M.Ed. - Special Education: K-12 General Curriculum Provisional Licensure Track (Virginia)

If you are a licensed educator and wish to work in special education, this program teaches you how to apply certain educational strategies to assist special needs students​ in receiving​ the education they deserve. 

If you are a provisionally licensed special education teacher ​​working in special education, this program will prepare you to apply learning plans to help special needs students improve literacy and other educational areas.

Career Outcomes

Upon ​completing this program, you earn an M.Ed. in Special Education and are eligible to add a K-12 Endorsement in ​​Special Education​ General Curriculum​ to your VA teaching license.

M.Ed. - K-12 (VA Initial Licensure Track)

If you are seeking special education licensure, the M.Ed. Special Education K-12 program will provide you with the theory, knowledge​,​ and practical skills to achieve your goal. If you are a licensed educator and wish to work with special education students, this program will teach you how to identify, assess​, ​​ ​and support students receiving special education services so they can meet their educational goals. 

Career Outcomes

Upon ​completing​​ of​ this program, you will earn an M.Ed. in Special Education. After you complete the VCLA and ​Praxis Teaching Reading Elementary,​ you will be eligible for initial teaching licensure in Special Education for grades K-12.
